Fourth Chakra – Heart
Represented as a 12 Petal Green Lotus Flower
In Sanskrit, the Heart Chakra is called ‘Anahata’.
Its meaning is ‘Unstruck’.
Functions:
This is the energy center of all forms of love including personal love, love for others as well as all living beings including the planet and the universe.
It begins to develop in our teens and is fully established in our early 30s.
This Chakra represents love and compassion.
It houses our emotional power.
In our teens, the Heart Chakra begins to open. It desires to find joy and delight, through being open and sharing with others in various forms of connection.
When we don’t have enough love in the early stages of our lives, it can be challenging to allow our hearts to open freely.
In this Chakra, we are given the ability to not only learn to love ourselves but also others by giving and receiving love.
It is the part of the Chakra energy system that connects the body and spirit.
When balanced we see the good in everyone and the joy in all things. We feel compassion and empathy and desire to help others.
When out of balance we become victims. Feel sorry for ourselves, afraid to open up to anyone, feel unworthy of love, and afraid to get hurt.
